Robert is working in the bike business since 1993. He led the Testing Department of TOUR Magazine for seven years and invented some of the groundbreaking testing methods and concepts for bicycles together with Dirk Zedler (zedler.de).

Since 2000 Robert has co-founded two start-ups, in the field of human resources and training (2peak.com). With new skills under his belt, Robert began to coach athletes and to follow a more holistic approach, combining engineering and coaching.

A main area since his studies is aerodynamic optimization. Together with Ernst Pfeiffer from the GST wind tunnel Robert has developed an advanced testing protocol for road bikes, measuring with a moving leg mannequin, also used by TOUR Magazine.  
    
Robert started racing on the road as a kid and discovered mountain biking later. He performed marathons on and off road, finishing the TOUR Transalp stage race five times and became World Press Champion in 2011 in the individual TT, placing second in the road race. In his leisure time, he prefers taking knobby tires to the western Alps.
